On Friday 4th August two events coincide – International Beer Day and our Jack the Ripper pub tour, offering our guests the chance to discuss the Whitechapel murders at length at the Victorian ale houses associated with the killer.
The tour, which takes place every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 6.30pm, visits the scenes of the murders committed by the anonymous killer in 1888, stopping off at distinctive Victorian pubs along the way. The Ripper killings are a gruesome tale of the loss of five innocent lives, mixed in with numerous theories as to the identity of the murderer and his incentives.
Whether you think you can crack the case, or are just looking for a different way to mark International Beer Day, this is the tour for you.
What the Jack the Ripper Pub Tour Involves
The tour starts at exit three of Aldgate East Tube Station, meeting at 6.30pm Thursday through to Sunday. Adult tickets are priced at £12, with children’s (11 years and over) tickets at £10 and the tour takes approximately two hours before finishing on Brick Lane.
As part of the tour, you will stop in at a number of famous pubs along the way, offering you the opportunity to buy a drink and sit down to discuss the killer’s motives. What could have possibly caused someone to snap and kill at least five different women in such gruesome circumstances? What theory is the most plausible, or perhaps you have your own that you would like to bring to the table?
